Remark 3

It is possible to determine the matrix $A$ for the correction of a geometric anisotropy in three dimensions. However, reality seldom conforms to such a particular model as an ellipsoid of geometric anisotropy. In practice, a zonal anisotropy will most often be used to distinguish certain directions (e.g., the vertical direction from the horizontal directions).
