Behavior of the Variogram Near the Origin

The continuity and regularity in space of the random function $Z({/boma x})$ and, thus, of the regionalized variable $z({/boma x})$ that it represents, are related to the behavior of the variogram near the origin. In order of decreasing regularity, four main types of behavior can be distinguished, see Figure 4.3.
